Man held with stolen goods [Chandigarh]

MOHALI: Police on Sunday claimed to have nabbed a thief at a special check-post red-handed with stolen goods worth Rs 1.50 lakh.
Officials said that a police party set up a naka near Sector 70 and carried out routine checking of vehicles and their registration papers.
Cops stopped a man for checking who was carrying a shoulder bag. The man identified himself as Baljit Singh, a resident of Industrial Area, Phase II in Chandigarh.
After checking the bag and finding a camera in the bag, police officials said that the man failed to give a reasonable explanation for carrying a camera in the bag.
Authorities revealed that a stolen property report had been filed in Mataur police station on Thursday, in which Manpreet Singh, owner of HK Studio in Sector 70, had registered an FIR against unknown persons claiming that one 40D Canon camera, batteries and tools, had been stolen from his shop, the value of which was quoted at Rs 1.50 lakh
